dissolve

saain itna dijye jaame kutumb samaaye..main bhi bhookha na rahoon, atithi bhokhaa na jaaye

apni chav banaiye ke, main pii ke paas gayee, jab chav dekhi pii ki, apni bhool gayee...chaap tilak sabb chini re mose naina milaye ke....

rasri jal koyla bhai, koyla jal bhai raakh re, main paapin aisi jali ki koyla bhai na raakh re...

paani main meen pyaasi
mohe dekhat aawe haansi
paani main meen pyaasi
aatam gyaan bina sabb bhatke, koi mathura koi kaasi
jogi hokar rahe jungle main
ban ban phire udaasi
paani main meen pyaasi
mohe dekhat aawe haansi
kasturi mrug naaabhi basat hai, dhoondat hai ban ma hi
pothi pad pad pandit ho gaye, kawn milye awinaashi
paani main meen pyaasi
mohe dekhat aawe haansi
majid padd karr, mulha pukaare,
kawn mite yamm phaansi
gaat kabir suno bhai saadho
guru bin mite na chowraasi
paani main meen pyaasi
mohe dekhat aawe haansi

bilakh bilakh ke tiriya/chiriya roye..toot gayee meri jodi, kahe kabir suno bhai saadho, jin jodi unn todi....
zarra dheere gaadi haanko re more raam gaadi wale
kahat kabir suno bhai saadho
mann laago mero yaar phakiri main
saahib mile saburi main

unke chipne ka koi gham hi nahin...dil ke aaiyene main,, iss dil ke aayine main taswir utar aayi hai

hi,
sorry i couldn't understand the lines, as i dont speak hindi...
but it seemed to me that it is one of kabir's poems..??
am sure it must be wonderful...i've read may of his poems in english translations...

must say one line caught my attention:
chaap tilak sabb chini re mose naina milaye ke....

isn't this from one of the quawwalis of the same name, sung by nusrat fateh ali khan??...i simply love the number!

well i am not sure if this particualr line is from kabir. may be it is ghalib.
and yes, nusrat sahab has immortalized it in his own style.
i remember in one of his interviews, nusrat sahab said that he was pained to see the video of his song aafreen aafreen (lisa ray one)because of the way it had been shot. it had twisted the meaning.
great sufi compositions ofetn metaphorically use words like - beloved, love, wine etc.. which may be used in some expressions to convey alternate meaning/s.

yeah, am not surprised that nusrat sahab was upset...

and yet, often i feel that our whole world is so pervaded with divine love, that it only takes a certain shift in one's perspective to actually see and feel the reality of this beautiful love...no matter what the "contradictions" may be on the outside...

i, for one, try and use my imagination to the fullest to try and feel this abundant outpouring of divine love, no matter where i am or what the situation may be, however "mundane" or "sublime"...

i mean, after all beauty is in the eyes of the beholder...and the divine is everywhere...
so why not actually try and adjust our own vision and mindset and tune into this divine zone, rather than complain about external circumstances...

well, am really glad that you too like nusrat khan's singing...
btw, do check a movie called "dead man walking" for which nusrat has scored the music... its absolutely awesome, haunting, mesmerizing...
i've shed many a tear over the song "face of love"...
the music album has some great numbers with eddie verder...
